Jenny always wanted to study Yoga at its source. Her dream became a reality when she went to study in India under Yogacharya Lalit Kumar. She was trained in Ashtanga inspired yoga with Iyengar alignment techniques and methodology. Because she studied in Yoga's birthplace, her style of Yoga is very authentic. It combines asana, pranyama, mantras and meditation. Yoga is a complete science and Jenny believes it should be practiced as such.

Jenny has been practicing yoga for 10 years. She knows first hand the benefits it has on both the mind and body. She has a strong anatomical knowledge. This ensures her students are in the correct alignment in order to both deepen their practice and prevent injury.

The relaxation techniques used in yoga can lessen chronic pain. This could include lower back pain; arthritis; headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome. Yoga can also lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia.

Mental Benefits

One of the best benefits of yoga is how it helps a person manage stress. This can have devastating effects on the body and mind. Stress can reveal itself in many ways, including back or neck pain, sleeping problems, headaches and lack of concentration. Yoga can help develop coping skills to achieve a more positive outlook on life.

Yoga’s incorporation of meditation and breathing can help improve a person’s mental well-being. Regular yoga practice creates mental clarity and calmness; increases body awareness; relieves chronic stress patterns; relaxes the mind; centers attention; and sharpens concentration.

Jenny offers 1-1 yoga sessions. These which will be tailored to your requirements, either for improving your general yoga practice, or to help correct postural imbalances, or treat an array of different health concerns.

Group classes are suitable for all levels. These will be in the form of Vinyasa Flow based on the Ashtanga primary series but with Jenny's own unique twist.

1-1 Sessions

Group yoga classes are great, but a private teacher deepens your practice in surprising ways. Whether new to the yoga game, needing rehabilitation from an injury, or just wanting to take your practice deeper, 1-1 sessions can offer some surprising benefits.

With 1-1 sessions, all the attention is on you. It’s like the benefits a student receives from a tutor versus classroom learning. You will learn to develop your self practice as this is how yoga was originally practiced. The sessions will be tailored to your individual needs; whether these are physical or spiritual. Postural imbalances can be corrected as well as individual areas of tightness released.

There’s safety in private yoga instruction, all your injuries and special needs are addressed in each pose. You can also build a new practice much faster than in a group setting, due to the focused training you’re receiving. You develop a relationship with the teacher, and each class is fine-tuned to your needs.

EXTRACT FROM JENNY'S BLOG : MY ADVENTURES IN INDIA

I’m writing this over a week after I arrived in India to complete my yoga Teacher Training and what a week it has been. This blog is going to be about my initial experience here and then I will move on to the Yoga Teacher Training.

My flight was pretty easy, I flew with Jet Airways, seats were as comfortable as they can be, food was as good as can be expected and the entertainment was good. Managed to get in 2 films before I fell asleep. Woke up with my breakfast tray in front of me, I must have been more comatosed than I had realised. I had intended not to eat on the flight as I know my stomach feels better when I don’t and as I left LHR at 21.20 there really was no need for food. However, when it comes to it I always do because it’s there and there is nothing else to do.

I landed in Mumbai expecting it to be chaos. I had been told it can take up to 2 hours to get through immigration before I could get my connecting flight but I went straight through, picked up my bag and then checked in for my flight to Goa. I felt strangely chilled about the whole journey. I’m so glad it was easy, as a sole traveller, I don’t think I could have coped well with any drama ... Read on ...
